The Apple Ethernet NB Card (820-0417-C) is a 7" Ethernet card compatible with Macintosh computers with one free NuBus slot. The card is equipped with a single AAUI (Apple Attachment Unit Interface), which when coupled with the appropriate adapter allows use of any of the common network interface cables (rj-45 twisted-pair, thin coax, etc).
Being a Macintosh Coprocessor Platform card, the Apple Ethernet NB Card is equipped with a full 68000 processor running at 10 MHz, 512 KB of 80ns DRAM and its own ROM.
As with all MCP cards the memory can be expanded to 2.5 MB.
Like all cards that use the Macintosh Coprocessor Platform, the Apple Ethernet NB card has many components ranging from a full CPU, ROM and RAM. |
All MCP cards run A/ROSE on a Motorola 68000 CPU operating at 10 MHz. |
The 4 chips above make up the 512 KB of system memory used by A/ROSE. Below are 4 slots to accept DIP (Dual Inline Package) memory chips that expand the memory up to 2.5 MB. |
