The Apple Video System Card was sold by Apple in the mid nineties and adds video input ports to several Macintosh models allowing them to record video and still images from VCRs, camcorders, etc.
The card was also available as part of the Apple Video/TV System, which included a TV interface board to provide users the ability to watch TV on their Macintosh.
Any program which uses QuickTime can take advantage of these inputs. The most commonly used program is Apple Video Player bundled with Mac OS. It allows one to record video and watch TV (if the TV tuner board is installed).
