Here you can see the main unit along with the power supply and keyboard. |
The main unit alone. As you can see, the speakers run the full height of the unit with the 12 inch LCD between. |
Another shot of the main unit. |
Here you can see the base unit which contains the power supply and Bose subwoofer. |
In this shot you can see the air port on the top which is part of the subwoofer. |
A side view of the base unit. |
Here you can see the label for the base unit showing power specifications and approvals. |
Located on the base unit, this dial controls the subwoofer volume. Turning past 30% is pretty powerful. |
This 23-pin custom connector is located on the subwoofer and joins to the main unit, supplying power and audio hookups. |
The lower portion of the main unit contains the 4x vertical CD-ROM drive, remote sensor, headphone connector and many controls. |
Here the CD-ROM drive is open showing how discs are loaded. |
To the right of the CD-ROM drive controls for audio playback are located. These controls allow for full audio CD control including play/pause,stop, forward, reverse and stop/eject. |
Here you can see both the subwoofer and main unit ends of the cable. |
The connection is made by lining up the two grey bumps and turning the metal ring. |
The back of the main unit showing two fans and the array of connectors. |
Two fans are used on the TAM. The left fan cools the motherboard and the fan on the right cools the video inverter (as far as I can tell). |
A close-up of the inverter fan. |
With the back panel removed you have complete access to the motherboard. |
Here are the modem, printer and ADB (keyboard/mouse) connectors located on the back. |
All the connectors which run up the side have labeled cable holders to keep everything organized. |
Here are the rest of the connectors. From left to right: Power button, subwoofer/power cable, audio out, audio in, SCSI, cable TV, FM radio antenna. The last part is a standard hardware locking slot to keep people from stealing your TAM using a 3rd party locking kit. |
Here are the main connectors on the unit. Also seen here to the right of the TV and FM antenna connectors is the cable guide with cover on. |
The modem, printer, ADB, S-Video and audio line in connectors are seen here along with the cable guide below. |
The TAM keyboard is a basic PowerBook keyboard and trackpad with a very nice case which includes real leather palm rests. |
The trackpad can be removed and replaced with a blank leather panel for use on the side of the keyboard. |
The information label for the keyboard. |
